11/10/06- The Province of Massa-Carrara at Dire & Fare

The Province of Massa-Carrara will exhibit with its own stand at Dire & Fare – the Exhibition for the Innovation of the Public Administration – this year.

 Celebrating its 9^th year, Dire & Fare sets down in Marina di Carrara at the exhibition centre Carrarafiere, and is sponsored by Anci Toscana and the region of Tuscany. In this exhibition is the one with the largest attendance of local authorities’ representatives.

 The main theme of this year’s exhibition is the relationship between citizens and Public Administration: recognition and assertion of citizens’ rights and the citizen’s role in decision-making process of local authorities.

These sub-themes form a framework for conferences and workshops whose challenge will be to involve local communities, schools, associations and citizens’ forums through special programs and activities.

One of the most meaningful moments of this event will be a consideration as far as the up-to-dateness of the values in our democracy, welfare and the popular sovereignty after 60 years of republic are concerned. Environment, training, education and public health will be other key issues, as well as local finance.

The importance of having active citizens will be the topic of meetings scheduled with young people. The exhibition will feature other relevant initiatives for citizens, users and consumers.

Initiatives for weaker citizens as far as the recognition of their right to citizenship is concerned are featured in the area ‘peripheral citizen’. The citizen’s participation in the decision-making process and in the administration thanks to the new tools provided by technology will be the main issues in the area ‘E-government and innovation’.
